Cancellation & Booking Policy

Selway River Adventures (SRA) trips operate in a remote wilderness setting and require significant planning and permitting. The following policy is designed to be transparent, fair, and reflective of the commitments necessary to run safe and successful river trips.

Booking & Payment Schedule

  • A 50% deposit of the total trip cost is required at the time of booking to reserve your seat.

  • The remaining balance is due 90 days before the trip launch date.

  • Reservations are confirmed once we receive the required deposit and a completed registration form.

Non-Refundable Payments

  • All payments (deposit and final balance) are non-refundable.

  • A refund will only be issued if SRA can rebook your reserved trip space with another guest.

  • If your space is successfully rebooked, you will be refunded the amount paid, minus any applicable administrative fees.

Participant Cancellations

If you need to cancel your trip:

  • Please notify Selway River Adventures in writing as soon as possible.

  • If your spot is rebooked, a refund may be issued as outlined above.

  • If your spot is not rebooked, no refund will be provided.

Missed Payments

  • Final payment is due 90 days before the trip launch date.

  • If full payment is not received by this deadline, SRA reserves the right to cancel your reservation and retain all payments made.

Trip Changes or Cancellations by SRA

In the unlikely event that Selway River Adventures must cancel or significantly alter a trip due to factors such as low enrollment, unsafe conditions, or other operational concerns:

  • You will be offered a full refund of all payments made, or

  • The option to transfer your payment to another SRA trip, subject to availability.

SRA is not responsible for additional costs incurred by participants, including airfare, lodging, or other travel expenses.

Trip Insurance (Strongly Recommended)

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase trip insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Trip insurance may cover:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption

  • Medical expenses and emergency evacuation

  • Travel delays or lost baggage

Trip insurance is the best way to protect your investment if circumstances arise beyond your control.

Flexibility & Special Circumstances

Selway River Adventures understands that each guest’s situation is unique. While this policy applies to all bookings, we strive to be reasonable and fair when possible.

  • Requests for refunds, discounts, or changes are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

  • Any approved exceptions or adjustments will be confirmed in writing by SRA.

Include:

  • Trip name and date

  • Participant name(s)

  • Reason for cancellation or request

Requests are considered received once confirmed by SRA via email.
